Internationally recognized Scribes and Calligraphers have been my teachers. I am a member of West Virginia Allied Artists and 2 other outstanding art groups: the Charleston and Huntington Calligrapher’s Guilds.
Biography
Biography: In high school, I learned how to pronounce Calligraphy (kah-leeg-rah-fee),the art of beautiful handwriting, how to produce a 45-degree pen angle with a nib and ink…
As an English major, I love the way calligraphy can generate power and inspiration through the visual interpretation of the written word.
Some of my sources of inspiration...
Almost anything is fair game... philosophers, prayers, humor...
and anybody can be fair game! A good calligrapher always has a keen ear for the next phrase to put to paper (just ask my husband!)...
I am especially moved by the hard-earned wisdom that others have shared, their profound utterances. How wonderfully deep and rich and appreciated.
